Training with Hālau Lei Aloha is a carefully guided, heart-centred pathway into the living traditions of Lomi Lomi Nui.

Our modular training is designed as a progressive journey, where each step builds naturally upon the one before it—deepening your skills, understanding, and embodiment of this sacred bodywork. Blending best-practice education with experiential learning, residential retreats, and ancestral Hawaiian teachings, you are supported to learn at your own pace while being held within lineage, integrity, and purpose.

Whether you are exploring if this path is right for you or committing to becoming a professional Practitioner, you choose how far you wish to go, knowing each step is complete, intentional, and transformative.

We offer “Blended Learning” to suit our students – that means, a combination of online, LIVE classes, and practical in-person residential retreats

There are steps because we don’t offer “crash courses” or jumping to practical training when you don’t have the essential ‘ike/knowledge, or the level of practice & hana/work required to get you to the stage of your development that we want you to be, and YOU want to be…and we’ll be with you to support you every step of the way!

Residential Retreats include accommodation sharing and meals, except on occasion where Venues are not available for accommodation, then retreats will be non-residential. Meals may be prepared ‘Ohana-style, working together to create healthy nourishment for one another, that’s part of the Traditional Ways!

The Practitioner Pathway

STEP 1: Papa Lomilomi – 1: Beginners Basic

You begin your Lomilomi Nui Training with the online Theory component: an introduction to our Hālau, the basic Traditional Teachings, and preparation for Lomi Lomi Nui Bodywork.

🌿This is the Online Theory Component is self-paced training with on demand access to your Teacher and/or the Training Team. This will take you about 10 hours to complete and is a mandatory part of your training. You must complete all modules before attending the in-person basic training in Lomi Lomi Nui Bodywork

🌿As part of this training you will begin learning an Oli/Hawaiian Chant. You are not expected to have learned the Oli off by heart before the Residential Training begins but you must be familiar with it

🌿The Basics Bodywork training is an in person Residential retreat is 3 days in duration, usually from a Thursday afternoon until a Sunday afternoon, at various locations in Ireland & Europe.

🌿You’ll put into practice what you learned in Ho’omaka, build on it, and learn the full body Lomi Lomi Nui Bodywork, at a basic level

You can also do the Online Component of Ho’maka as a stand-alone module if you are new to Lomilomi and undecided whether this modality is for you.

STEP 2: Papa Lomilomi – 2: Practitioner Level

This blended learning takes place over a number of months, beginning with Path to Paʻa, with Kumu Paʻa Julia Nālani Adams, and our Hālau teachers, with online & LIVE classes over 7 weeks

🌿You will learn more about the vastness of Hawaiian Traditional Teachings & Practices, Protocol, and how to develop your spiritual foundation as a Lomi Lomi Practitioner so you can apply the Teachings to your own life and with Clients in sessions.

🌿After completion, you can join the in-person Practitioner Bodywork training retreat, either Residential or Day Stay, which is 3 days in duration, usually from a Thursday evening until a Sunday afternoon

🌿You will learn more methods of Lomi Lomi Nui on the full body, including Underbody, working with The Elements, Body Reading & Body Wrapping

**Pre-Requisites for Certification**

  • A 1-to-1 Hoʻoponopono session with one of our recommended Luna Hoʻoponopono is required for Practitioner Certification. This can be done at any stage, but certainly before certification as Lomi Lomi Nui Practitioner
  • Bookings & Payment are kuleana/responsibility of the student

STEP 3: Papa Lomilomi – 3: Advanced

For Practitioners who are ready to develop and deepen their ‘ike/knowledge and skills

🌿This 4 day in-person retreat, usually from a Wednesday afternoon until a Sunday afternoon, includes exploration of personal Moʻokūʻauhau, cleansing practices, bone-washing bodywork, joint rotations & Laulima energy work

STEP 4: Luna Hoʻoponopono practitioner

Hoʻoponopono extends your expertise as a Practitioner and keeps you firmly rooted in the Healing Traditions of old Hawaiʻi, as it was also part of Lomi Lomi, and still is…

Hoʻomaka: Introduction Theory Only

This is an online, self-paced, introduction to our Hālau, Hawaiian Healing and Lomi Lomi Nui Bodywork. It is designed to provide you with the information you need to decide if this Lineage is for you. It gives you all the necessary information you need to know to get started as Practitioner and join the practical retreats. It is also suitable for anyone who is simply interested in the basics of Hawaiian Healing & Traditional Teachings.

Anyone who is interested in learning more about what training in Hawaiian Healing and Lomi Lomi is about. It can also serve as an educational introduction to Hawaiian Indigenous Protocols, as we introduce Oli, Pule, as well as traditional concepts of spirituality and Life.

Itʻs necessary to start from the beginning (Hoʻomaka) even if you have had previous training, as our training is unique. If you have previous training with Louise, there will be a minimal charge for the Ho’omaka course, however you would still have to complete it, as there are additional Teachings that you would not have had on previous Trainings.

You will receive a Certificate from Hālau Lei Aloha after completion of “Basics Bodywork Lomi Lomi Nui” and “Practitioner Bodywork Lomi Lomi Nui”.
